Annual Jeans and Bling Awards Gala

The Jeans and Bling Awards Gala is the LAAC's signature annual fundraiser. It is a night of celebration, recognition, and purpose. This highly anticipated event honors outstanding individuals whose achievements and community service efforts have made a meaningful difference in addressing the needs of our community. It is an evening where elegance meets purpose, as we blend style, fellowship, and philanthropy to uplift and inspire.

Proceeds from the Gala directly fund scholarships for local students and support the chapter’s ongoing programs and service projects throughout our service area. Each award presented during this event reflects several of our core programmatic areas and honors four Sorors who were instrumental in chartering chapters in Deep East Texas and continued to exemplify excellence throughout the Lufkin area.

• The Ella Mae Austin Social Action Award – Honoring individuals who have demonstrated exceptional advocacy, leadership, and dedication to promoting social justice and positive change.

• The Willie Mae Burley Physical and Mental Health Award – Recognizing contributions that promote wellness, healthy living, and mental health awareness in the community.

• The Nettie Collins Education Award – Celebrating those who have made significant impacts in education through teaching, mentorship, or advocacy for lifelong learning.

• The Carol A. Pierre Arts and Letters Award – Honoring individuals who have advanced cultural awareness, creative expression, and the preservation of the arts.
