Our Chapter

The Lufkin Area Alumnae Chapter was officially chartered on March 21, 2009, becoming the 1009th chapter of our esteemed sisterhood.
LAAC was formed to expand our impact across Deep East Texas. This strategic growth enabled more focused programming, deeper community engagement, and a broader reach.

Today, the Lufkin Area Alumnae Chapter proudly serves a diverse area that includes Lufkin, Huntington, Diboll, Burke, and Hudson. Our chapter continues to uphold the legacy of Delta Sigma Theta by implementing programs that empower youth, support health and wellness, advance social action, and strengthen the community.

Charter Members

LAAC was built on the vision, dedication, and pioneering spirit of our charter members. These remarkable women laid the foundation for our chapter, committing themselves to the principles of our sorority.

Through their leadership, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to community empowerment, our charter members established programs, traditions, and a culture of excellence that continue to guide LAAC today. They not only shaped the chapter’s early direction but also inspired future generations of women to carry forward the legacy of Delta Sigma Theta in Lufkin and throughout Deep East Texas.

We honor and celebrate our charter members for their courage, foresight, and lasting contributions, recognizing that the strength of our chapter is built upon their vision and dedication.
